More than 25,000 children at Boston Medical Center come from families who are living below the poverty level. As a result, they often do not have basic necessities that are fundamental to good health and well-being. Founded on the simple concept of "doing everything possible to give children a chance for growth and for a bright and healthy future," the Kids Fund cares for any need that arises which is not met by basic health care. As such, the Kids Fund helps provide basic necessities not covered by medical insurance like eyeglasses, winter coats, medicine, food, clothing and home medical equipment. The Kids Fund also provides key resources to initiate and sustain innovative programs that are centered on delivering the best possible health care outcomes for Boston's neediest children and their families.
