| Staying Healthy Now to be Ready for the Future
Many of the 6 million Americans living with paralysis are waiting for a cure or looking for some way to improve their quality of life. While there is an increasing excitement over clinical trials beginning in the United States, and discussions of transplant therapies taking place in other countries, understanding who is a candidate for these trials continues to be a question in the forefront of the minds of those seeking a cure. How do individuals stay healthy in preparation for participation in clinical trials? Maintaining health is crucial to considering participation in clinical trials. As scientific
advances come to light, individuals with spinal cord injury need to understand how to maintain their health to be ready to participate. This month’s lecture will discuss an individual’s responsibility as a potential candidate and
explore resources available now to help individuals with spinal cord injury live a healthy life.
