Why We Run: BAA 5K
Boston Medical Center is unique among Boston’s medical institutions: it is the only hospital existing principally to serve the city’s poor, disenfranchised and most vulnerable citizens. Caring for this community isn’t ancillary to BMC's mission—it is BMC's mission.
Team BMC runs for the hospital's newest endeavor called Vision 2030, which aims to make Boston the healthiest urban population in the world by 2030. Vision 2030 encompasses the longstanding belief that when an organization invests in the root causes of urban health issues, the community and its people greatly benefit and thrive. Boston Medical Center will empower Boston, refining a system that works with stakeholders across the city to implement programs to improve overall health and create new partnerships as models for innovation, efficiency and replication.
