Finagle Bakery & Cafe

Finagle Bakery & Cafe

Laura Trust and Alan Litchman, owners of Finagle Bakery & Cafe, have partnered with Boston Medical Center since 2006 to raise money for people in need. An original sponsor of BMC's Halloween Town event, Finagle enthusiastically sold pin-ups in their stores to help promote the event and raise money for the Kids Fund. Although the Halloween Town event is no more, Laura and Alan continue to be steadfast supporters with successful point of sale and other campaigns. In addition to adding change collection boxes at their stores, they have also designed and sold custom made travel mugs to benefit the hospital. Since March 2009, Finagle has raised over $40,000 for the Kids Fund.

Herb Chambers Automotive

Herb Chambers has been a friend to Boston Medical Center for years, most often supporting the annual Gala event. In addition to providing remarkable auction items, like a two-year lease mini cooper on display at the 2011 Gala, Herb Chambers has stepped up with big sponsorships - $25,000 last year alone! Now, we are excited for Herb Chambers to join the Catwalk for BMC Cancer Care family as a Haute Couture sponsor of our June 2013 event.

Sal Perisano, CEO, of iParty likes to tell people that he sells 20,000 things that nobody needs. Unless, of course, you happen to need confetti shaped like the number “40”, a plastic nose, mustache and eyeglasses for disguise or, if it’s Halloween, a Styrofoam headstone that says “I’ll be back.” Sal and his wife, Dorice Dionne, are fun people which is reflected in their stores that are packed with balloons, prizes, costumes and other seasonal party supplies. But Sal and Dorice are serious in their support of the Kids Fund at Boston Medical Center.

They solidified the connection with the Kids Fund when iParty and BMC launched Halloween Town in 2005, evolving in 2010 with HalloweenFest. Both events were created to throw a fun, safe Halloween party for the kids of Boston and to raise money for BMC’s Kids Fund.

Much of iParty's financial support comes from pinup programs hosted at local iParty stores throughout the year. These easy but lucrative programs allow shoppers to donate a dollar at the register to help the Kids Fund. Since 2005 the programs have raised over $850,000 for the Kids Fund. Sal and Dorice know about the challenges the children at BMC face, and how important every dollar is, especially these days. They have fun at what they do, but they know from their support of the hospital that not everything in this world is fun and games.

Macy*s is one of BMC’s newest corporate partners after celebrating cancer survivorship at the first annual Catwalk for BMC Cancer Care held in June at the State Room in downtown Boston. In addition to sponsoring the event financially, Macy*s also generously provided hundreds of gift bags overflowing with the latest beauty and fashion products. After a successful and inspiring inaugural event, Macy*s will join us again as a Presenting Sponsor in June 2013.

Natixis Global Asset Management [NGAM Advisors]

Natixis Global Asset Management has created an exciting, innovative model of corporate partnership and participation. Boston Medical Center is among a handful of non-profits directly benefiting from the Natixis employee giving campaign and subsequent company match. The model continues to evolve as Natixis employees and BMC explore and establish opportunities for meaningful participation.

In addition to employee and corporate giving (including Gala, Food For Thought and other sponsorship gifts), gifts of used cell phones and Blackberries have translated into significant financial support of the Domestic Violence Program. Natixis employees have created food drives and delivered new, very high quality magazines to the delight of BMC’s hematology/oncology outpatients. Dozens of Natixis employees have participated in tour programs to educate themselves about exceptional care, without exception in action. Most recently, we have established an “In the Know” speaker series, where BMC physicians and leaders make presentations a few times a year to Natixis employees interested in learning more.

Ocean State Job Lot

Ocean State's relationship with Boston Medical Center began as most do: with 40,000 pounds of chicken. That's how much frozen chicken Marc Perlman, President of Ocean State Job Lot ,a leading New England discount retailer, was looking to give away to one lucky nonprofit. But because of the quantity, and the refrigeration required, he had no takers until he called Norman Stein, Vice President of Development at BMC.

A devoted partnership soon developed between Marc and Clare Perlman, their company, Ocean State Job Lot, and BMC. Although we still receive frequent deliveries of food and clothing [most recently a huge donation valued at over $40,000] to be used in our Food Pantry and Clothing Bank, these donations are just the tip of the iceberg!

In December 2004, Ocean State Job Lots began selling gift box pinups to benefit cancer care at BMC throughout the holiday season. Since then, the wildly successful point of sale campaign has expanded to include a springtime pin-up program offering a meal deals coupon book to customers. While operating these two programs, Ocean State Job Lots has raised $1.5 million for Boston Medical Center!

In addition to corporate support, the Perlmans have also showed their dedication and friendship to BMC with generous personal donations. Most notably, they made a game-changing million dollar gift to support the Moakley Cancer Care Building in 2006.

The mission of Boston Medical Center is unique and clear: to provide exceptional care without exception to the people of Greater Boston.
