MassMutual
Through the generosity of supporters like MassMutual, Boston Medical Center is building a program to holistically address patient needs, using data to develop health-advancing social services such as providing nutritious food, connections to housing, financial literacy, and more. Beginning with patients in Boston, the program will expand to BMC’s community health centers and partners across Massachusetts thanks to the MassMutual Foundation.
John Hancock
John Hancock and Boston Medical Center are recognized community leaders and are natural partners with a shared focus on improving lives. Together, we crafted a unique and impactful partnership touching on a wide-range of BMC initiatives to advance community health. This includes John Hancock supporting BMC’s efforts to make Boston the healthiest urban population in the world by strengthening our clinical and research data systems and developing meaningful partnerships to secure more equitable health outcomes for patients in Greater Boston. Most recently the relationship has expanded to wealth-building initiatives, like BMC’s StreetCred program, with the understanding that improving a patient’s financial situation can lead to improved health outcomes.
Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation
Curbside Care, funded by the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation, is an innovative mobile unit that will deliver comprehensive BMC Pediatrics and Midwifery services to 2,100 moms and babies, right outside of their homes. The Curbside Care program comes in response to a troubling statistic: 40% of new moms at BMC never return for a postpartum appointment, in part due to lack of transportation or childcare. With a shared commitment to health equity, BMC and the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation are removing barriers to healthcare and helping moms and babies get a healthy start.
