Honor and Memorial Giving

Support Boston Medical Center by honoring a friend, remembering a loved one, commemorating an event or recognizing a caregiver. There are many ways you can celebrate an occasion or someone special to you:

  • Make a tribute gift. Simply select “Yes, this is an honor or memorial gift,” write in the honoree’s information, and we’ll notify them of your thoughtful gesture.
  • Create a fundraising page. Raise funds for BMC in honor or memory of a loved one, or ask friends and family to donate in honor of your birthday or wedding, like Kimmie and Joey (above) did.

When acknowledging an event through honor and memorial giving, BMC offers wraparound assistance and can provide important supporting collateral. Please contact the Development Office at philanthropy@bmc.org for any questions or help.

Memorial Giving Language

Many donors inquire about the appropriate obituary language for donations in lieu of flowers. The following is recommended with specifics in [brackets]:

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to [specific department or program] at Boston Medical Center, in memory of [name]. Contributions can be made at bmc.org/giving. You can also mail donations to Boston Medical Center - Office of Development, 960 Massachusetts Avenue, 2nd Floor Boston, MA 02118. For checks, please include individual’s name in the memo line.
