Door Decorating | On-Site Opportunity
Create a welcoming environment for our youngest patients and their families by decorating patient doors in our pediatric unit. Companies often organize an office teambuilding opportunity to create the decorations and a smaller group will attend the volunteer session at BMC to decorate.
Rooftop Farm Volunteer | On-Site Opportunity
15 volunteers per shift (reserved for BMC corporate partners currently giving $50,000 annually)
BMC deeply understands that our environment impacts our health. With two rooftop farms, we’re working to strengthen at-risk local food systems, reduce our carbon footprint, and increase green space. The farms also stock our Preventive Food Pantry, a first-of-its-kind program in which physicians can “prescribe” foods that facilitate health and recovery for many clinical diagnoses. During this session, volunteers assist BMC’s farmers with tending to and harvesting crops during the spring or fall.
Kit Building | Off-Site Opportunity
Kit building offers a meaningful, hands-on way for your team to make a difference right from your office. Groups choose from a selection of four BMC programs based on needs and receive a list of suggested items to purchase. If you wish, a BMC representative will join the session to share about the hospital and the program your group is supporting. The volunteer group is responsible for purchasing items and delivering completed kits to BMC.
Book Drive | Off-Site Opportunity
BMC’s Volunteer Services team manages an entertainment cart, which distributes books in waiting rooms and inpatient units, providing a nice distraction for caregivers and patients. Groups are invited to host a book drive for new or gently used books for the hospital. To enrich the experience, BMC would be pleased to hold an info session at your office on our work or a health topic that’s of interest to your team.
