Thank you to the runners and donors who supported Boston Medical Center through Team BMC’s participation in the 130th Boston Marathon, raising more than $817,000 and counting for BMC. Because of you, BMC is making world-class healthcare accessible to all patients.

BMC is home to expert clinicians and cutting-edge treatments. We’re also creating programs that meet patients’ needs holistically with support from people like you. Funds raised through the Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program help drive better health outcomes for everyone. Here are just a few examples of what philanthropy makes possible at BMC:

• Wealth = Health: Wealth is linked to health. That’s why BMC created an Economic Justice Hub to increase economic opportunity for patients and families through financial coaching, pathways to jobs, free tax preparation services, and more.

• Food is Medicine: Our hospital-based food pantry, the first-of-its-kind in the nation, distributes more than 1 million pounds of nutritious food to patients and their families each year. BMC’s Teaching Kitchen uses fresh ingredients in our healthy cooking and nutrition classes for our community. Some of the fresh produce used by these programs is grown on our two Rooftop Farms.  

• Greatest Needs: BMC is helping patients secure safe housing. Expanding critical mental health services. Increasing access to clinical trials and groundbreaking research. Your support enables our team of experts, innovators, and advocates to respond to patients’ emerging needs and make our city healthier.
