Project REACH

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, pediatric in-person visits dropped significantly, leaving BMC providers grappling with how to stay connected to their patients and families who were at-risk now, more than ever. They quickly realized that if families were unable to come to BMC, they would need to reach families in their own communities. Brewster Ambulance stepped forward donating an ambulance to a team of clinicians, nurses and staff who planned to visit families in nearby Boston neighborhoods to provide essential vaccinations and other critical follow-up care. In addition, Project REACH was launched to assess the well-being of all BMC pediatric patients and expand these home visits to include the delivery of important necessities like food, diapers, hygiene items, educational tools and other supports.
