Together with the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation, Boston Medical Center is ensuring expert care is accessible to patients through Curbside Care. Our partnership centers on a mobile unit bringing critical post-partum care to moms and their babies in underserved Boston neighborhoods, aiming to close health equity gaps in part caused by transportation and childcare hurdles. The results have been powerful: appointment no-show rates post-partum have decreased from 40% in the clinic to 2% on the unit.
Beyond support of the mobile unit, the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation has hosted annual community celebrations for BMC patients, offering activities and giveaways for new moms and their children. In 2025, the Celtics were recognized with the NBA Social Impact Award for their partnership with BMC on Curbside Care.
