Stop and Shop Spotlight

Stop & Shop is helping feed families with Boston Medical Center. Their support advances our Nourishing Our Communities initiative, including BMC’s Teaching Kitchen, Rooftop Farms, and Preventive Food Pantry.

Each year, BMC’s hospital-based food pantry distributes more than 1 million pounds of food to patients. Our two rooftop farms produce more than 10,000 pounds of fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs that go directly to patients, staff, and the community. Some comes to our Teaching Kitchen, which has held more than 310 virtual culinary classes focused on approachable and culturally-relevant topics, helping attendees learn healthy cooking habits.
